According to a recent court filing, there is a potential new witness who could testify that Fani Willis, the individual involved in the case, warned her lover Nathan Wade’s former business partner to remain silent about their affair. This revelation adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal proceedings.
During a phone call in September 2023, Willis reportedly warned Terrence Bradley, “They are coming after us. You don’t need to disclose anything about us to them.”
According to court papers filed on Monday by Trump co-defendant David Schafer, Cobb County, Georgia prosecutor Cindi Lee Yeager overheard the call.
Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, is currently fighting to maintain her position overseeing the election interference case, which has charged Donald Trump and 18 others.
Nikki Haley’s lack of knowledge about her own party is the reason why Trump is the only candidate left standing.
She is accused of having a relationship with Wade, whom she appointed as a special prosecutor, but she concealed it from the court, creating a conflict of interest.
Willis and Wade testified that they were romantically involved only between 2022 and 2023, a significant time after the commencement of the case.
During a recent hearing to determine if Willis should be disqualified, Bradley testified that he had no awareness of when the two prosecutors began dating.
According to the filing, Yeager would testify under oath that Bradley’s statement contradicts what he personally told Yeager. Yeager claims that the romantic relationship between Bradley and Willis actually started in 2019, during Willis’s DA campaign.
Former President Donald Trump has recently taken aim at District Attorney Fani Willis, accusing her of engaging in “sexcapades” with her former partner, Nathan Wade. The controversial statement has sparked a heated debate among political commentators and the public alike.
Trump’s comments came during a rally where he expressed his dissatisfaction with Willis’ handling of certain legal matters. While it is not uncommon for politicians to criticize their opponents, Trump’s choice of words has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism from many.
Some argue that Trump’s remarks are an attempt to undermine Willis’ credibility and distract from the issues at hand. They claim that focusing on personal relationships instead of discussing substantive policy matters is a classic tactic employed by politicians to divert attention from their own shortcomings.
On the other hand, Trump’s supporters argue that his statements bring attention to what they perceive as a potential conflict of interest. They believe that Willis’ past relationship with Wade could influence her decision-making process and hinder her ability to carry out her duties impartially.
Regardless of one’s stance on the matter, it is clear that Trump’s comments have added fuel to the already fiery political landscape. The controversy surrounding Willis and her alleged “sexcapades” serves as a reminder of the divisive nature of modern politics and the lengths politicians will go to gain an advantage.
During the trial, Bradley sent a text message to a lawyer representing another co-defendant of Trump. In the message, he confirmed that he and the co-defendant were indeed dating. This happened before Willis hired Wade to oversee the prosecution of Trump in November 2021. When presented with this evidence in court, Bradley reacted by saying, “Oh, dang.”
According to Monday’s filing, Yeager is prepared to testify that Bradley informed her about Wade’s romantic involvement with Ms. Willis while she was campaigning for District Attorney in 2019 through 2020.
According to the recent filing, Ms. Yeager expressed her concern after witnessing Bradley’s testimony. The reason behind her concern was the stark contradiction between what Bradley testified in court and what he had previously disclosed to her in person.
Willis started dating Wade in 2022, after she had hired him. This timeline holds significance as it could be used to expose Willis’ false testimony, which may lead to her removal from the case.
Willis’ office contends that Bradley, who admitted that his claims about Wade and Willis were mere speculation, cannot be considered a credible witness. They argue that Bradley had a strong motive to lie, especially considering that he had left Wade’s law practice under suspicion of sexual assault.
Judge Scott McAfee aims to make a ruling on Willis’ potential continuation on the case within the next two weeks.
It remains unclear at this time if the court will decide to re-open the hearing in order to consider any additional evidence.
