According to James Spann, the Chief Meteorologist of ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Alabama can expect a wet and stormy weather pattern in the coming days. He predicts occasional rain and a few strong thunderstorms.
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there is a concern that if storms coincide with an area of unstable air moving northward, some of the storms could potentially become severe. According to Spann, the severe weather threat for Alabama is both complex and conditional. He emphasizes the significance of factors such as the position of a surface front, the location of small-scale boundaries, and the degree of instability in determining the severity of the threat.
Highest Tornado Probability
According to meteorologist Spann, the areas with the highest tornado probabilities today and tonight are the far west and southwest counties of Alabama. Tomorrow, the risk will shift to the east and southeast part of the state. Although the chance of a tornado north of I-20 (the northern third of Alabama) through tomorrow is very low, it is not completely zero.
