Two individuals arrested following extended standoff with police, multiple gunshots discharged within Bronx residence

Two individuals have been taken into police custody after a tense standoff occurred in the Bronx during the early morning hours.

In the Morris Heights section, authorities swiftly responded to a distress call reporting multiple gunshots fired within an apartment.

The incident took place on University Avenue at approximately 3:48 am.

According to police sources, it is believed that up to ten shots were fired.

Upon arrival, the police encountered difficulties in gaining access to the premises, necessitating the deployment of their Technical Assistance Response Unit.

Drones played a crucial role in assessing the situation.
