Mexican Army Engages in Fatal Shootout near Texas Border, Resulting in 12 Deaths

Mexican authorities have reported a fierce gun battle between soldiers and gunmen near the Texas border, leading to the fatalities of 12 assailants.

In the town of Miguel Aleman, located near Roma, Texas, a confrontation took place, as reported by the security department of Tamaulipas, a northern border state. According to their social media platforms, soldiers were attacked, resulting in the neutralization of 12 suspects during a gunfire exchange. Additionally, twelve rifles were seized by the authorities at the scene.

No additional information about the attack on the soldiers has been provided by the security department, and so far, no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the incident. The Mexican army has stated that it currently has limited information about the shootout.

Miguel Aleman has a past filled with turf disputes and violent incidents involving the former Zetas cartel, now known as the Cartel of the Northeast, and the Gulf cartel.
