Identification of victims in several fatal shootings in Kansas City by local police department

Kansas City police have released the names of the victims in several homicides that occurred last week, a period when the city was still grappling with the aftermath of a fatal shooting at a Super Bowl rally.

From February 12th to 16th, a series of tragic incidents occurred in Kansas City, resulting in the loss of eight lives. One of the victims was Lisa Lopez Galvan, a 43-year-old woman who was fatally shot during the Kansas City Chiefs parade.

The police have recently disclosed the identities of four more homicide victims from last week.

Two deadly shootings were investigated by the KCPD on February 13th, which occurred within hours of each other.

Around 5 p.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex near The Paseo and Meyer Boulevard. Authorities arrived at the scene to find an unresponsive man who had been shot.

The man responsible for the incident has been identified as Antonio Mitchell, aged 45.

The man was apprehended by Kansas City police at the scene last week, although prosecutors have not yet disclosed any charges.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on February 13th, the police responded to another fatal shooting incident at the intersection of E. 16th Street and Jackson Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a deceased male who had been shot inside a residential property.

The authorities have recently confirmed the identity of the victim as 20-year-old Lamar Allen.

On February 16, a tragic incident occurred at a social gathering in south Kansas City, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving one person injured.

Linford Garrett, aged 22, and De’Shawn Robinson, aged 16, have been identified as the victims.

On February 12, police also announced the tragic deaths of Deion Lewis, aged 31, and Tyler J. Giles, aged 27.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), an argument and subsequent shooting ensued following a non-injury crash in the vicinity of 39th Street and Woodland Avenue. The preliminary investigation suggests that both victims were engaged in firing shots.

Approximately half of the victims were under the age of 16. However, all 11 patients who received treatment at Children’s Mercy have now been discharged from the hospital.

According to Police Chief Stacey Graves, a shooting occurred as a result of a dispute between multiple individuals. She emphasized that the initial investigation indicates no links to terrorism or domestic violent extremism.

Two juveniles are now facing charges in juvenile court for the shooting incident that took place during the parade. The charges brought against them include gun-related offenses as well as resisting arrest.

The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office has informed FOX4 that the juveniles will face adult charges once they are certified to stand trial as adults. Their identities and ages have not been disclosed at this time.

According to records from FOX4, the number of homicides in Kansas City has reached 14 in 2024.
