Man from Hoover dies after falling from UAB parking deck

On Monday, a tragic incident occurred at a UAB parking deck where a resident of Hoover lost his life after falling from the sixth floor.

The man has been identified as Daniel Andres Sanabria by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

A 43-year-old UAB employee.

At 11:35 a.m. on Monday, UAB police officers were sent to the parking deck located in the 1200 block of University Boulevard.

Sanabria was discovered unconscious and declared deceased at the scene at 11:45 a.m.

UAB has released a statement regarding the incident, stating that it is an ongoing police investigation, but no foul play is suspected. The statement also acknowledges Daniel as a cherished member of the UAB community and expresses condolences to his family and friends, emphasizing that he will be greatly missed.

On Tuesday, it remained uncertain whether the fall was accidental or intentional.

The coroner’s office has stated that further investigation is needed to determine the manner of death. The UAB Police Department is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the death.
