Joe Morton from ‘Speed’ Will Consider Joining Third Film with the Right Role

Joe Morton is eager to join forces with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves for a third installment of the “Speed” franchise. However, he remains hesitant about the proposed storyline, according to TMZ.

According to TMZ, the actor expressed his interest in joining “Speed 3” following Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves’ desire to reboot the franchise. Joe, who portrayed Lieutenant Herb ‘Mac’ McMahon in the original film, mentioned that there are important aspects that need clarification before he commits to any new project.

He enthusiastically mentions that “Speed” was an exhilarating roller coaster ride. The bus had to skillfully navigate through the city streets, even jumping a gap in a bridge. The suspense was palpable as the bus had to maintain a minimum speed of 50mph to prevent it from exploding. He wonders, what kind of vehicle could match the intensity of such a thrilling experience?

Joe describes the vehicle as the crucial element for the film’s success, highlighting the failure of the boat in “Speed 2: Cruise Control.”

In 2022, Sandra expressed her criticism for the follow-up flick, stating to TooFab, “I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.”

If a third film were to happen, Joe believes there are numerous important factors that need to be considered, setting vehicle questions aside.

“He continues to pose intriguing questions about the upcoming movie. “Who is the new villain in the story? Is Jack still working as a cop? And most importantly, what is the connection between the villain and Keanu?”

Joe saves his most pressing inquiry for the finale: Will Sandra and Keanu’s characters be romantically entangled in “Speed 3”? By the way, we’re just as curious!

The actor proposes involving the original screenwriter, Graham Yost, in order to create a “Speed 3” that can truly surpass the original “Speed.”

His clear bottom line is, “Count me in if he is!”
