Jersey City police car crash leaves 3 injured, including 2 officers

Jersey City authorities are currently conducting an investigation following a crash involving a police cruiser, which resulted in injuries to multiple individuals.

The incident took place on Friday morning at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Stegman Street, around 11 a.m.

Three individuals, including two officers, sustained injuries in a collision between a police car and another vehicle, according to authorities.

The hospital admitted the injured victims, who had suffered only minor injuries.

The front end of the vehicle involved in the collision was missing, with its bumper lying on the street.

As the driver was on their way home, a patrol car suddenly collided with their vehicle, causing it to spin out of control. Chris Seawell shared that his mother and daughter were also in the car during the incident, and they were left feeling deeply shaken.

Seawell expressed her concern about her daughter’s reluctance to be touched and the pain she was experiencing. However, she also mentioned that overall, both her daughter and mother are doing well, for which she is grateful.

Upon receiving the distressing news, his girlfriend hurriedly made her way to the scene of the incident.

According to Saleema Roberts, the incident occurred when the traffic light was green, and the police officer was making a turn without using the siren’s sound. As a result, he collided with her car, causing it to end up in its current position. The officer’s vehicle spun around completely, leading to a collision with another car.

Several parked cars were damaged as a result of the crash, with the front end and back bumpers being affected by the domino effect.

Seawell is feeling distressed as the individuals responsible for safeguarding his community were involved in an accident that resulted in his mother being hospitalized.

Seawell expressed her frustration, stating, “I’m simply furious. It’s expected that you all should be conscious of your actions and ensure our safety. Instead, you put us in danger with such actions.”

The authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the events that transpired.
