Four others were injured and two were killed in overnight gunfire around Indianapolis

Two individuals have tragically lost their lives, while several others have been injured in separate shooting incidents that occurred during the night in the western and northwestern areas of Indianapolis.

5000 W 71st St

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about shots being fired at 5000 W 71st St. on the west side at around 1 a.m.

The victims were said to be conscious and able to breathe.

7545 Rockville Rd.

Around 1:30 a.m. on the west side, officers received a report of a person shot and promptly responded to 7545 Rockville Rd.

IMPD reported that officers were present at the scene when the shooting occurred. They were in the process of preparing to conduct a raid at the Onyx Event Center, where an illegal party was taking place.

The police have stated that the building received a cease-and-desist order, prohibiting it from hosting any events.

As officers positioned themselves outside the building, multiple individuals rushed out in a panic, informing them that a shooting had occurred.

5700 block of Little Creek Drive.

Early in the morning, around 5:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers discovered a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Little Creek Drive. The man had sustained gunshot wounds.

The police reported that the man was seated in the driver’s seat of a car in the parking lot, although not in a designated parking space.
