Deputies say a Stone Mountain man has been arrested for killing a high school rival

A man from Stone Mountain was taken into custody following allegations that a brawl with a fellow high school student resulted in a tragic death.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office served warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault weapon on Robin Alvin Carmichael, 18, at his home on Thursday. The investigators received assistance from Georgia State Patrol S.W.A.T.

On March 28, 2024, Deonta Walker, a 22-year-old victim, tragically lost his life on Muirforest Drive in Stone Mountain.

Note: I have rephrased the paragraph while maintaining the active voice and a more human-like tone.

Walker and Carmichael had an enduring rivalry that originated during their time in high school, as stated in the warrants.

According to investigators, the men engaged in a heated verbal argument that quickly escalated into a tragic shooting incident.

Carmichael was taken into custody smoothly and placed in the DeKalb County Jail, where authorities are currently holding him without the possibility of bond.
