Philadelphia police said a marine unit was called to the scene near Spring Garden Street around 3:40 p.m. after a body was discovered floating in the river.
The deceased has been identified as a black male in his 30s, known as “John Doe.” Medic 13 pronounced him deceased at 5:10 p.m.
According to initial evaluations, there are no indications of any physical injuries or trauma. Additional information will be shared as the investigation continues.
