Conservatives are going crazy over President Joe Biden’s recognition of “Trans Day of Visibility,” especially since it coincides with Easter this year.
It is quite amusing to see how certain right-wing pundits and politicians are under the impression that President Biden is the mastermind behind the creation of the annual tradition. However, it is important to note that this tradition has been around for over a decade and has always taken place on March 31st.
On Friday, the controversy started when Biden issued a statement in which he officially acknowledged the date. This is a customary practice followed by the White House for various holidays throughout the year.
“Transgender individuals are an integral part of our country,” expressed the proclamation. “Today, we want to convey a powerful message to all transgender Americans: You are cherished. Your voices are heard and valued. We comprehend and empathize with your experiences. You are an essential part of America, and my entire Administration stands firmly behind you.”
Many prominent conservatives criticized the president for acknowledging the date, as it coincided with Easter this year.
Former commander-in-chief Donald Trump led a campaign that strongly criticized the announcement. His press secretary issued a statement expressing condemnation of the decision. Additionally, they highlighted a recent flyer that mentioned children participating in the White House’s Easter egg design contest cannot use “overtly religious themes.”
Karoline Leavitt, former press secretary for Donald Trump, expressed her dismay and outrage at the White House’s decision to prevent children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event. She also criticized the administration for officially recognizing Easter Sunday as the “Trans Day of Visibility.” Leavitt’s strong response highlights the perceived disregard for religious traditions and the promotion of a different agenda.
The Biden Administration’s ongoing attack on the Christian faith continues with these recent incidents. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for the beliefs of millions of Catholics and Christians in America. We demand an apology from Joe Biden’s campaign and the White House for their disrespectful actions. Tomorrow holds great significance for Christians as it marks the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and it should not be overshadowed or undermined.
The White House responded sharply to Trump’s comments, stating that the rules for the egg design contest had been established over 40 years ago and had remained in place throughout the entire Trump Administration.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates responded to a Fox News story about the Easter egg design contest rules on X (formerly Twitter), pointing out the need for fact-checking. Bates highlighted the absence of information regarding the origin of these rules.
The news outlet that has a history of paying nearly $1 billion for deceiving its audience finds itself in an embarrassing situation once again. This particular story revolves around nonpartisan guidelines that have been in place for a staggering 45 years, even during the previous administration.
In a recent tweet, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) expressed her belief that Biden’s announcement was disrespectful towards God.
In a scathing critique, she expressed her belief that Biden and the Democrats are relentless in their mockery of faith and disregard for God. She emphasized that they cannot escape the consequences of mocking God, just as Biden cannot hide the fact that he is not the one truly in charge at the White House.
In the past year, Greene attempted to disseminate false information regarding a fictitious “trans day of vengeance” on X, resulting in a temporary restriction imposed by the social media platform.
There was a lot of anger and outrage surrounding the false notion that Biden purposely chose a specific day to disrespect American Christians.
Conspiracy theorist and unsuccessful former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy openly accused Joe Biden of arbitrarily proclaiming that “Transgender Visibility Day” falls on Sunday, March 31st. Ramaswamy expressed his curiosity regarding how Biden arrived at this particular date.
Even House Speaker Mike Johnson joined in on the action.
“The Biden White House has violated the core principle of Easter, which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he expressed on X. “It is both outrageous and abhorrent to banish sacred truth and tradition, all the while proclaiming Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day.’ The American people are certainly taking notice.”
Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk also expressed his thoughts on the announcement, suggesting that Republicans should create their own holiday to counterbalance the transgender-focused holiday if Trump is re-elected to the White House this fall.
The Republicans who expressed anger over the routine proclamation received a strong response from the White House, particularly those who questioned Biden’s Catholic faith.
President Biden’s spokesperson, Bates, responded to the attacks on Saturday, emphasizing the President’s commitment to unity and the values of Easter. Bates expressed disappointment in politicians who attempt to divide and undermine the nation through their cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric.
President Biden has made it clear that he will never exploit his faith for political gain or personal profit.
The president is acknowledging a day that was initiated by activist Rachel Crandall-Crocker in 2010. This annual holiday was established as a way to address the issue of violence against transgender individuals.
Every year since, March 31 has been designated as Transgender Visibility Day.
