Cassie’s legal team is criticizing Diddy’s apology regarding the leaked 2016 video, which depicts him assaulting her. They are calling him a hypocrite and insinuating that he deceived the public.
Cassie’s lawyer, Meredith Firetog, released a statement on Sunday, stating that “Combs’ most recent statement is more focused on himself rather than the numerous people he has harmed.”
According to her, when Cassie and several other women came forward, he completely denied the allegations and insinuated that his accusers were only seeking financial gain. This is in reference to Diddy’s vehement denial back in December, even after being sued by another accuser following Cassie’s allegations.
In his response, he strongly denied the allegations made against him, stating, “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.”
Firetog dismisses the statement as empty, highlighting the fact that the apology only came after the repeated denials were exposed as false. She sees this as a desperate attempt to salvage his reputation and believes that his insincere words will not convince anyone.
As previously mentioned, Diddy’s apology video acknowledged that he was at rock bottom during that time. He openly shared that he sought therapy and rehab in order to receive professional assistance and address his personal struggles.
Diddy also emphasized that he isn’t making any excuses for his past behavior. He admitted feeling disgusted with himself at that time, a sentiment that still holds true today. He shared that he is actively striving to become a better person every day, without expecting forgiveness from others. Ultimately, he sincerely expressed his remorse, stating that he is genuinely sorry.
As we all know, Cassie made various accusations against Diddy in her lawsuit, including this one. However, Diddy promptly denied all the allegations when she initially filed the lawsuit in November. Interestingly, they quickly reached a settlement agreement. It is worth noting that despite the incident in 2016, Diddy and Cassie continued to date.

Diddy is currently under the spotlight of a federal investigation, which he vehemently dismisses as a witch hunt. However, authorities in Los Angeles have confirmed that they will not be pursuing a case regarding the 2016 beating.
