Woman quits job after winning $90,000 on lottery scratch-off

One lucky woman from Kentucky was able to quit her hated job after winning a $90,000 lottery prize from a scratch-off game.

Reshawn Toliver purchased a set of $5 Wild Cash Multiplier scratch-off tickets from a local gas station. While her boyfriend and son were in the other room of their home in Hopkinsville, about 170 miles south of Louisville, Reshawn began scratching off the tickets. This information was shared in a press release by the Kentucky Lottery on March 12.

When she uncovered the numbers on the first four tickets, she considered the fifth one to be insignificant, despite revealing three “7” symbols.

“I thought it was just going to be another $5 win,” Toliver shared with lottery officials. “I was so frustrated that I even rolled my eyes when I saw that.”

Toliver made an error in her statement. According to the lottery, she actually won the top prize of $90,000.

Toliver exclaimed, “I screamed! That was the loudest I have ever hollered.”

A lucky man has recently won a staggering $2.6 million prize. This incredible stroke of luck came to him after he was given a scratch-off ticket by his father.

Toliver’s boyfriend and son rushed to her side when they heard her loud screams, concerned for her well-being. Filled with a mix of emotions, Toliver couldn’t contain her laughter and screams of joy upon realizing that she had won the top prize, as she shared with lottery officials.

Toliver clinched the coveted top prize by successfully matching three “7” symbols on the second game. According to the lottery, when a player manages to match three symbols, they are rewarded with a prize that corresponds to the match.

Kentucky Lottery winner quits her job

Instead of opting for the more common choices of travel, paying off her house, saving, or staying anonymous, Toliver made the bold decision to quit her job.

Toliver informed officials from the Kentucky Lottery that she has been longing to leave her current job in search of something new. Winning the lottery has provided her with a bit of additional support as she embarks on her quest for a new career.

“I was feeling dissatisfied with my job, but fortunately, a path opened up for me,” Toliver expressed. “Although it was difficult to leave, I am now relieved to have the opportunity to resign.”
