Texas Football Player Rashee Rice Surrenders to Police After Car Accident and is Incarcerated

Rashee Rice has been taken into police custody after the K.C. Chiefs star turned himself in to law enforcement on Thursday. Currently, he is being held behind bars in a Texas jail.

23-year-old Rice is currently in custody at the DeSoto, TX jail on eight charges. These charges are all related to the auto accident that occurred on March 30 in the Dallas area. The star receiver crashed his vehicle and then fled the scene. This information is based on online court records.

RR confessed to being behind the wheel of one of the vehicles involved in the accident, specifically a rented Lamborghini Urus.

Earlier this week, Dallas officials issued an arrest warrant for Rashee, and astonishingly, just one day later, the NFL player willingly surrendered himself to the authorities.

Rice is charged with aggravated assault, as well as one count of collision resulting in serious bodily injury and six counts of collision resulting in injury.

Several individuals sustained injuries.

Shortly after the accident, Rashee’s attorney, Royce West, made a strong commitment to cooperate with the police and ensure that everyone affected by the incident would be taken care of. True to his word, he has been actively working towards fulfilling this promise.

Rice is not the only one facing legal consequences in this incident. A warrant has also been issued for Theodore Knox, an SMU football player who was reportedly driving Rashee’s Corvette, which was involved in the multi-car crash. As of now, Knox has not turned himself in.

According to records, Rice will now need to post a $40k bond, with $8k required for each charge, before he can be released.
