Two fishermen who stumbled upon the accident were the ones who provided much-needed assistance. As a consequence of the incident, Reum unfortunately lost his leg. Despite this setback, he maintains a positive outlook and aims to utilize his platform to support individuals facing mental health challenges.
“What this experience showed people was that they have the ability to surpass their own expectations and overcome challenges in their lives,” Reum explained. “While not everyone will find themselves stranded in their car for six days, it serves as a reminder that we all have the strength to persevere during difficult times.”
Reum intends to pen a book that delves into the comprehensive account of his harrowing experience during the six days he spent trapped in his truck, shedding light on the mental and physical challenges he faced. His narrative will encompass both the triumphs and the struggles he encountered. In addition, he eagerly anticipates further therapy sessions and the opportunity to acquire a prosthetic limb. Despite losing his leg, he maintains a profound sense of gratitude for being alive. Furthermore, he remains forever indebted to the two courageous fishermen who ultimately saved his life.
