Sophia Bush makes her red carpet debut alongside girlfriend Ashlyn Harris

Days after actress Sophia Bush publicly revealed her queer identity and confirmed her romantic involvement with retired soccer star Ashlyn Harris, the couple made their first official appearance together on the red carpet.

The actress from “One Tree Hill,” aged 41, was seen on the red carpet of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner alongside Harris, aged 38. They both donned elegant black attire by Harbison and accessorized their outfits with stunning jewelry from Briony Raymond.

After coming together with journalists, Hollywood stars, and politicians, Bush and Harris also took pictures together at the Swiss ambassador’s residence.

Their arrival coincided with the publication of a personal essay by Bush in Glamour magazine, in which she openly acknowledged her relationship with Harris. It is worth mentioning that the “Chicago P.D.” actress had filed for divorce from her husband, Grant Hughes, last year, while Harris also filed for divorce from her wife, Ali Krieger, shortly thereafter.

Actress Sophia Bush has recently penned an open letter to address the ongoing rumors about her being a homewrecker and to shed light on her relationship with Ashlyn Harris. In her heartfelt letter, Bush aims to set the record straight and share her perspective on the matter. Rather than letting the rumors spiral out of control, she takes the opportunity to speak directly to her fans and the public, offering her own side of the story. By addressing the speculation head-on, Bush hopes to put an end to the false narratives that have been circulating.

In the essay, Bush refuted the allegations of being a home-wrecker and strongly criticized the dissemination of false information suggesting an affair between her and Harris. She clarified that her connection with Harris began in 2019 and grew stronger in 2023 when both Bush and her husband were in the midst of separation and contemplating divorce, while Harris was also navigating her own separation from her wife.

In response to allegations that Bush left her ex because she suddenly realized she wanted to be with women, the actress responded by saying, “My partners have always been aware of my preferences, so that’s not the reason, sorry!” She also shared that she had contemplated calling off her wedding to Hughes in 2022 and even felt physically ill after posting about their one-year anniversary in 2023.

In her essay for Glamour, Bush revealed her thoughts on “coming out” in 2024, expressing her dislike for the idea. However, she did share that the term that best describes her sexuality is queer, adding that saying it brings a smile to her face, which she finds incredibly empowering.
