Five students from the University of Georgia are being praised by an East Georgia sheriff’s office for their heroic actions that saved three lives. The sheriff’s office expressed their gratitude and admiration for these students, giving them a heartfelt shout-out. Their brave efforts have truly made a difference and deserve recognition.
The sheriff’s office reported that Jane McArdle, Mary McCollum, Eleanor Cart, Clarke Jones, and Kaitlyn Iannace, who were driving down the roadway, witnessed a white SUV veer off the road and overturn into the creek at Ellison Bridge Road.
The students’ quick thinking and bravery were commended by the sheriff’s office, who expressed their deep appreciation for their actions.

They commended the excellent work of everyone involved, including the Sardis Police Department, Burke County EMA – GA, and Burke County Georgia 911.
