Rory McIlroy’s manager, Sean O’Flaherty, released a statement on Tuesday afternoon stating that the golfer will not be commenting on Monday’s filing. However, he emphasized McIlroy’s determination to handle “this difficult time” with respect and a desire for an amicable resolution.
Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica, are on their way to ending their marriage as the PGA Tour star has recently filed for divorce, according to TMZ Sports.

According to court records, the golfer, aged 35, filed the documents in Florida on Monday, marking the end of their marriage that began seven years ago.
The reasons behind the breakup have not been disclosed yet. We have contacted McIlroy’s attorney for a comment, but we are still awaiting a response.
Rory and Erica’s paths first crossed in 2012 during the Ryder Cup event for the PGA. It was a fateful encounter that would leave a lasting impression on both of them. At the time, Rory found himself in a bit of a predicament as alarm problems threatened to make him miss his tee time. Fortunately, Erica came to the rescue and managed to secure a police escort for him, ensuring that he made it to the course on time. This fortuitous incident would be the start of a special connection between the two.
Initially, the two were simply friends. At that time, the golfer was in a relationship with tennis superstar Caroline Wozniacki. However, their dynamic changed in 2014 when he and Wozniacki decided to end their engagement.
Throughout his career, Tiger Woods received unwavering support from his wife, Erica, despite the couple’s preference for keeping their relationship private. Erica stood by her husband’s side on the golf course, demonstrating her unwavering support. Their bond strengthened even further when they tied the knot in 2017.
In 2023, she showed her support for him during the Ryder Cup and even had the opportunity to caddy for him at the Masters Par 3 contest.
The couple welcomed their first child, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, in 2020.
