Police arrest the man who drew a gun on the pastor with homicide after his relative was found dead

A man has been charged with homicide after allegedly pulling a gun on a pastor at a Pennsylvania church on Sunday, resulting in the death of his cousin. This information comes from the Allegheny County Police.

Bernard Junior Polite, a 26-year-old man, was taken into custody on Sunday after reportedly trying to shoot Rev. Glenn Germany while he was delivering a sermon at the Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in the Pittsburgh suburb of North Braddock.

In a live stream capturing the incident, Polite was tackled from behind by a church deacon after his handgun malfunctioned.

Law enforcement officials announced on Tuesday that the suspect has been charged with homicide in relation to the death of his cousin.

According to witnesses interviewed by detectives, they observed the suspect “pacing outside the residence” on the morning of the church incident. Additionally, a neighbor reported hearing a noise that could potentially be a gunshot.

Quillbot is currently being detained in jail prior to his arraignment.

During an interview on “Good Morning America,” the pastor expressed his gratitude for surviving the attempted shooting, describing it as nothing short of a miracle.

“He pulled the trigger and witnessed a miraculous event as the gun inexplicably jammed. It was as if divine intervention had spared him from the bullet that seemed destined to find its mark,” Germany shared.

According to Germany, he witnessed Polite entering the church. Polite even smiled at him before proceeding to the pulpit and pointing the gun at him. The brave deacon, Clarence McCallister, swiftly tackled Polite while Germany took cover behind a podium.

“I was filled with adrenaline and leapt up in a swift motion. With a firm grip, I swiftly compelled him to lower his arm and secured him in a restraining hold,” McCallister excitedly recounted during his interview on “GMA.”
