A Georgia pastor, who also owns a car dealership, has been arrested by the police on charges of defrauding customers.
Earlier this month, the Athens-Clarke County police issued an alert for Reveckeyo “R.A.” Hill, who was wanted on charges of theft by deception and identity fraud. According to jail records, Hill was taken into custody on April 11.

In May 2023, Hill became the center of attention during an investigation conducted by Channel 2 Action News.
Channel 2’s consumer investigative reporter, Justin Gray, has discovered that Hill has a prior conviction for identity theft and other charges in Elbert County.
Hill is facing multiple charges in Clarke County for allegedly carrying out various illegal activities at his dealership, H and P Auto Broker.
According to Athens-Clarke County Police Detective Nathaniel Franco, in May 2023, he revealed that the perpetrator would exploit the real identities of individuals who had previously purchased a car from him. Shockingly, he would clandestinely register vehicles under their names without their knowledge.
Evette Strickland shared with Gray the story of her late husband, who she said was burdened with a debt of $70,000 for a truck he never even got.
Strickland expressed his disappointment, stating that when someone holds the position of a pastor, one would expect them to guide individuals towards righteousness without taking advantage of their financial resources.
Stephanie Dowdy, a customer, expressed her concern about the way people harm others. Although she did not wish any harm upon anyone, she emphasized the need to address the issue of people causing harm to one another.
Dowdy, another one of Hill’s alleged victims, woke up one morning to find her car missing. She discovered that someone had stolen it.
The car was actually repossessed, as she managed to win a civil judgment against Hill.
Dowdy claimed that she was the one who was paying him the money, but he was not fulfilling his obligation to pay the loan company.
Hill willingly agreed to be interviewed by Gray to address the allegations being made against him. Gray had put in considerable effort over the course of several weeks to secure an interview with Hill.
Hill stressed the importance of a fair investigation, emphasizing the need for fairness.
Hill’s attorney declined to comment on the ongoing Athens criminal investigation and any related charges.
“I believe you’re accustomed to encountering individuals who shy away from your presence. However, I’m not intimidated by any of you,” Hill confidently expressed.
Hill assured Gray that he possesses concrete evidence to validate the legitimacy of all his transactions. This evidence includes paperwork and audio recordings. However, he and his attorney decided against providing Gray with the requested proof.
Hill has filed an appeal for his charges in Elbert County, but as of Monday, he is still in the Clarke County jail without bond.
