Moose Are Not In Control! A critter was spotted at Jackson Hole Ski Resort hitting the slopes

Skiers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, were recently surprised by an unexpected competitor during a downhill race. As they raced down the slope, shouts of caution and encouragement filled the air. Among the skiers, one person captured remarkable footage, likely with a GoPro or similar camera. To their amazement, they spotted a fully-grown moose racing alongside them and other snowboarders down the slopes of Jackson Hole.

The moose had no trouble speeding past skiers on the gently sloping terrain of this portion of the course. It ran at full tilt, showing its sure-footedness and seeming fairly comfortable among the humans. Being in its own backyard, with the Jackson Hole ski resort cutting through, the moose felt right at home. Slowing down to a canter under the chair lift, it then accelerated again on a slightly steeper part of the hill.

The comments posted beneath the video presented a range of opinions. One viewer remarked, “The last thing a beginner skier wants to hear is ‘Go faster’.” Some speculated that the moose may have felt as though it was being chased. On the other hand, a few individuals believed that the moose was simply enjoying its time with the skiers at Jackson Hole. While we cannot claim to possess the ability to communicate with moose, it is evident that the presence of humans does not appear to disturb the animal.

It is unclear whether this moose is male or female. Although only male moose grow antlers, they usually shed them in December or January and grow new ones in the spring. As the competitors in the “race” approach the bottom of the slope, the moose confidently walks off the side of the course like a true champion. Rest assured, no humans were harmed while filming this video. After all, the moose emerged as the winner of the race!
