Kansas City liquor store sells winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000

A Quick Pick Powerball ticket was sold at a Kansas City liquor store as multi-state jackpots approach the billion-dollar mark.

Someone in Clay County, Missouri, struck luck when they purchased a Missouri Lottery ticket and walked away with a whopping $50,000 prize.

The winning ticket was purchased on March 11 at Discount Smokes and Liquor located on northeast Highway 69 in Kansas City.

The winning combination consisted of the numbers 1, 3, 7, 16, and 66, with a Powerball number of 5.

The upcoming Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday and is expected to reach a whopping $750 million, making it one of the largest jackpots in the game’s history.

The upcoming Mega Millions drawing on Friday is expected to have a staggering jackpot of $977 million.

In Clay County, Missouri, players had an impressive year in 2023, with total lottery prizes exceeding $27.9 million. A significant portion of these winnings, amounting to over $12.6 million, was generously donated to education programs within the county. Additionally, retailers in the area earned substantial commissions and bonuses totaling more than $3 million.
