Jensen Ackles meets Justin Hartley in ‘Tracker’ on CBS

Justin Hartley, the lead of “Tracker,” announced some big news on Instagram: they’ve cast the perfect actor to play Russell Shaw, the estranged brother of his character, Colter Shaw. In the video, Hartley introduces his co-star by turning the camera to show Jensen Ackles on set.

Ackles will make his debut on May 12, where his character, Russell, asks Colter for help to find an old Army friend. The first season of “Tracker” has just four episodes left, but it’s already been renewed for a second.

Jensen Ackles is widely known for his role in “Supernatural,” where he starred alongside Jared Padalecki for 15 seasons on The WB and later on The CW. He then went on to executive produce and narrate “The Winchesters,” the prequel to “Supernatural.” Additionally, he played Soldier Boy in Season 3 of Amazon’s hit series “The Boys,” a role he reprised in the spinoff “Gen V.” Recently, Ackles appeared on the ABC show “Big Sky” and had a cameo on The CW’s “Walker,” which stars Padalecki.

Ackles is represented by Gersh and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

“Tracker,” based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel “The Never Game,” stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who travels the country solving mysteries for rewards. He uses his expert tracking skills to assist both private citizens and law enforcement, all while dealing with his complicated family history.
