Increased number of National Guard troops deployed to the border by Governor Abbott

More troops are being deployed to the border to assist with security as the legal dispute over the Texas immigration law persists.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has dispatched an additional 200 members of the National Guard known as the Texas Tactical Border Force.

In May of last year, Abbott took action by activating the group after Title 42 expired. The head of the Texas military department stated that they would implement a multi-phased response, deploying troops and drone teams to areas of high concern.

A team of specially trained individuals has been deployed to address civil disturbances, with soldiers arriving in El Paso as a direct response to the recent incident. Hundreds of migrants used makeshift materials like clothes and cardboard to conceal razor wire and successfully bypassed guardsmen in their efforts to surrender themselves to the border patrol.
