Kansas City Police are launching an investigation into a homicide following the discovery of a woman’s body in a field on the east side of Kansas City. A call reporting a deceased body came in around 1 a.m. on Tuesday near East 36th and Oakley, situated just southeast of 35th and Cleaver.
The victim, found to have sustained unknown bodily trauma, was declared dead at the scene by EMS. The circumstances surrounding her death, including how and when it occurred, remain unclear at this time. Homicide detectives are actively probing the case.
