Disgruntled sports director charged of framing principal with AI-generated racist, antisemitic recording

During an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends,’ Dr. Leonard Sax shed light on the controversial practice of affluent families exploiting false medical diagnoses to gain an unfair advantage in college entrance exams.

According to officials, a high school athletic director from Maryland has been arrested for allegedly using artificial intelligence (AI) to generate racist and antisemitic audio messages mimicking his boss’s voice.

According to authorities, Dazhon Darien, a 31-year-old athletic director at Pikesville High School, reportedly created a recording as a form of retaliation against his boss, Pikesville Principal Eric Eiswert. Principal Eiswert was conducting an investigation into Darien’s alleged mishandling of school funds at the time.

During a press conference on Thursday, Chief of Baltimore County Police, Robert McCullough, revealed that the voice recording was brought to their attention on January 17th. Following the discovery, a comprehensive investigation was conducted to thoroughly examine the allegations before disseminating the information to the public.

“On January 17, 2024, the Baltimore County Police Department was made aware of a voice recording that was being shared on social media,” stated McCullough. “The audio file was alleged to feature the voice of Mr. Eric Eiswert, the Principal at Pikesville High School. However, we have obtained conclusive evidence that proves the recording to be inauthentic.”

AI has the ability to predict a person’s political orientation solely based on their facial features, and this has raised concerns among researchers about potential privacy challenges.

Dazhon Darien, 31, faced arrest on Thursday for several offenses, including stalking, theft, disruption of school operations, and retaliation against a witness (Baltimore County Government).

According to authorities, the FBI and a forensic analyst from the University of California, Berkeley, conducted a thorough investigation and determined that the audio recording was fake.

In the audio recording, which was initially circulated among teachers and faculty and later widely shared on social media, Eiswert’s voice can be heard expressing a rant about Black and Jewish families at the school.

According to charging documents obtained by The Baltimore Banner, comments made in the recording indicated [Eiswert’s] alleged frustrations with the test scores of African American students. The comments also suggested that the speaker believed African American students were incapable of improving their academic performance through testing.

According to the charging documents obtained by the local outlet, the recording made derogatory comments about Jewish individuals and criticized two teachers who were allegedly unfit for their positions at the school. The recording captured a conversation between [Eiswert] and an Assistant Principal from PHS.

Authorities in Baltimore County have made an arrest in connection with a former high school athletic director.

Eiswert faced severe consequences due to the audio, as it resulted in a barrage of hate-filled messages on social media and numerous calls to the school.
