Couple in Kansas City area ties the knot at hospital shortly before welcoming baby

A couple from the Kansas City area in Missouri, showed great resilience and determination when faced with a setback in their wedding plans.

On February 13th, Sara Perry experienced early labor when her water broke unexpectedly. This happened at 35 weeks, which was three days before their planned wedding on February 16th.

The nurses at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit approached Sara and Brandon Perry with a heartfelt question: “Would you still like to get married before the arrival of your baby?” Without hesitation, the couple responded with a resounding “Yes.”

The hospital room was adorned by the staff, who transformed a bed sheet into a beautiful wedding dress and crafted a delicate veil using gauze. Their efforts were further highlighted as they managed to procure a delightful wedding cake from the cafeteria.

An ordained soon-to-be dad in the hospital graciously stepped forward to officiate.

With the authority bestowed upon me by the state of Missouri, I am delighted to proclaim you as Mr. and Mrs. Perry. It is now time for you to seal this beautiful union with a kiss,” declared the officiant.

Oliver, the couple’s baby, came into the world bright and early on Valentine’s Day.

Oliver, who arrived into the world a few weeks earlier than anticipated, is currently receiving care in the NICU at Saint Luke’s. The medical staff reports that he is progressing favorably during his time there.
