Alabama first-grade teacher charged for being drunk in the classroom

According to a local TV station, a teacher from an elementary school in Alabama was arrested on Monday. The teacher has been charged with public intoxication.

According to WBMA-TV, a 53-year-old first-grade teacher named Charlene Downs was taken into custody on Monday for public intoxication.

After being arrested, Downs, a dedicated first-grade teacher at Blountsville Elementary School, was eventually released from jail on bond.
