This year’s Mobilize Recovery initiative has enlisted the support of notable co-chairs, including Melissa Etheridge and Danny Trejo.
Starting from Los Angeles on September 20, 2024, Mobilize Recovery Across America 2024 will embark on a cross-country bus tour, making stops in 15 cities throughout September and October. Each stop will feature community trainings, listening sessions, overdose response support, and engagement with local policymakers and communities, addressing the concerns and issues important to the recovery movement. Community members, partners, and volunteers will actively participate in these events, making it a truly collaborative effort.
“Community building lies at the core of the recovery movement,” emphasized Ryan Hampton, the executive director of Mobilize Recovery. In a statement released on Thursday, he expressed, “This tour aims to amplify the voices, experiences, and efforts of local communities nationwide that are actively combating America’s addiction and mental health crisis. We believe that every individual’s path to recovery is special and deserves recognition. By embarking on this collective journey, our goal is to shed light on their stories and promote the message of recovery to a wider audience in a heartfelt and impactful manner.”
During the bus stops, various activities are conducted to engage and educate the community. These activities include distributing overdose prevention education materials, organizing moderated roundtables, and hosting TEDx-style talks focused on addiction, recovery, and mental health. The aim is to create awareness and facilitate discussions on these important topics.
Zendaya recently discussed the possibility of a third season of the hit show “Euphoria,” but it seems she is unsure about its future. When asked if the show would return for another season, Zendaya replied, “I don’t know. It’s beyond me.” This statement indicates that the decision is not in her hands and that she is not privy to any information regarding the show’s future. Fans of “Euphoria” will have to wait and see if a third season will be in the cards.
The additional co-chairs for the event include a diverse group of individuals. Among them are Noah Thompson, the winner of “American Idol,” the popular music band Fitz and the Tantrums, former NBA player Chris Herren, Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, who serves as the Administrator of SAMHSA, Neil Potts, the Vice President of Trust and Safety at Meta, and Dr. Karen DeSalvo, the Chief Health Officer at Google. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the table.
The bus tour route and local events will be announced through Mobilize Recovery’s Facebook page on June 10th and on their website. If you’re interested in participating, be sure to sign up for updates at mobilizerecovery.orgย .
