Three individuals were taken to the hospital, with two of them sustaining life-threatening injuries, following a crash on I-66 in Fairfax County during the early hours of Easter morning, according to the authorities.
Around 3:45 a.m. in Fairfax County, a Toyota Camry traveling westbound lost control and collided with the right jersey wall before coming to a stop in the left travel lane, according to State Police. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to lose power and go dark.
Shortly after, the Camry was struck by a Range Rover that was traveling in the left travel lane.
Two individuals in the Range Rover were not utilizing their seat belts and were forcibly thrown out of the vehicle. They were immediately taken to nearby hospitals as their injuries were deemed life-threatening. The driver and another passenger, however, declined medical assistance at the accident site.
The driver of the Camry was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
