An Indianapolis teenager is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital following a shooting incident at a gas station on the west side.
Twyla Wright expressed her distress by saying, “My baby is only 17 years old and she hasn’t even experienced half of her life yet. Now she has to go through counseling and see a neurologist.”
Wright witnessed the birth of her daughter, Tayler Robinson, 17 years ago.
Wright emphasized the urgent need for adults and, most importantly, children to cease their use of firearms. He urged parents to prioritize the well-being and safety of their children by being more attentive and vigilant.
According to Wright, her daughter had stopped at a Shell gas station on the west side of Indianapolis. While Tayler’s boyfriend went inside to grab some snacks, an unexpected incident occurred. Wright recalls that someone suddenly started shooting.
In the past year, Indianapolis gas stations were plagued by a surge in violent incidents.
According to IMPD data, there have been a minimum of eight homicides that took place at gas stations throughout the city.
The dangers of being at an Indianapolis gas station are now known to Wright’s family, as they have experienced it twice.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has stated that the case is still under investigation.
