In anticipation of the 30th anniversary of Nicole’s murder, Dominique, Nicole’s sibling, recently opened up to People about how their family coped with the devastating loss. According to Dominique, Juditha, their mother, gently explained to Nicole’s young children, Sydney and Justin, who were only 8 and 5 years old at the time, that their mommy was now in heaven.

Dominique remembered how she and her sisters took charge in caring for Sydney and Justin, doing their best to shield them from the terrifying truths of their circumstances.
She expressed her deep connection to the role, stating, “I knew deep down that this was the role I was meant to take on.” The bond she formed with Denise’s son, her own son, Sydney, and Justin was profound. They did everything together – playing, eating, and even going to the beach. She saw it as an opportunity to not only bring joy and fun into their lives but also to aid in their healing process.
