Desperate to locate their missing loved one, family members are tirelessly searching for a rapper who hasn’t been seen for nearly a month.
Jonathan Rusell, known as Jae Russ, disappeared in Gwinnett County on March 28.
According to family members, Russell, 34, relocated to metro Atlanta from Maryland two years ago with the intention of pursuing a more serious career in hip hop, as reported by Channel 2’s Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson.
He was scheduled to perform at a South by Southwest festival showcase last month in Austin, Texas, but he failed to show up for the gig.
According to his sister, Sherrie Russell-Bryant, her brother is a dedicated performer who never misses a showcase. She mentioned that this behavior is completely out of character for him.
The police conducted a search at Russell’s most recent address on Brays Mill Trace in unincorporated Lawrenceville. However, their efforts yielded no results. According to his family, his car was captured on a Flock camera last week, but the police were unable to confirm the identity of the driver.
Russell, who is described as weighing 185 pounds and standing at 6’1″, was last seen wearing jeans and a jacket with white sleeves adorned with the word “fellowship” in royal blue and white letters.
Russell-Bryant mentioned that the car windows were tinted, making it difficult to determine if he was actually inside the vehicle.
Russell’s family has expressed their gratitude for the help of their friends in the search for him. They are hopeful and praying that he is safe and not in any danger.
“I’ve already experienced the devastating loss of one brother to gun violence,” Russell-Bryant expressed. “All I want is my brother back. That’s all.”
If you have any information about Russell’s whereabouts, please contact the Gwinnett County Police.
