A gym member at Planet Fitness was taken into custody after reportedly walking around completely nude in the women’s locker room. The individual asserted that they identified as a woman, but the gym management was unconvinced.
Christopher Miller, who is identified as male by online booking records, was apprehended in Gastonia, NC on Thursday for indecent exposure. Gymgoers allege that he entered the women’s locker room at a nearby Planet Fitness.
A woman, taken aback by the situation, promptly contacted the police upon witnessing Miller’s presence. She informed the 9-1-1 operator that a man, completely unclothed, refused to vacate the premises. Interestingly, when questioned about his identity, he claimed to be a woman.
Eyewitnesses, who were interviewed by WSOC-TV, reported that Miller repeatedly asked a woman in the locker room to apply lotion to each other and then join him in the shower.
Planet Fitness prioritizes the safety of its employees and customers above all else, as stated in their response to the New York Post regarding the reported incident.
Just a few weeks after the gym company’s stock took a hit, another incident has occurred. This time, it seems to be related to the company’s response to a situation involving a transgender woman. According to reports, a woman filmed another gymgoer, who was also a transgender woman, shaving over a sink.
According to reports, the woman’s membership was revoked at her local Planet Fitness in Fairbanks, Alaska. Surprisingly, the individual who was caught shaving in the gym was allowed to return, even though this decision sparked some public outrage.
Planet Fitness has clearly stated that transgender individuals are allowed to use the restroom that aligns with their self-identified gender. However, the gym is committed to taking swift action against anyone who attempts to exploit this policy or engage in harassment towards other members.
Miller appears to have found himself in the latter group, as per the allegations made against him. Consequently, he now faces a felony charge.
