12-year-old from Iowa City who was missing for over two weeks has been located

Iowa City police reported on Wednesday that Jaylin Brown, a 12-year-old who went missing on March 1, has been found safe and sound.

According to a press release from the Iowa City Police Department on Wednesday, Brown has been found safe and no additional details are currently available.

He was last seen boarding the bus for school when he went missing. According to reports, he was wearing a gray hoodie, black pants with white stripes, and carrying a black backpack before his disappearance.

The Iowa City Police Department is actively collaborating with Brown’s family and pursuing leads in the case, according to a statement from Public Safety Information Officer Lee Hermiston provided to The Daily Iowan on March 19.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched on March 2 to raise funds for Brown’s family during the 19 days he went missing. The campaign has provided three updates and has managed to collect $385 out of its $10,000 target as of March 20.
