A tragic accident occurred in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, west of Denver, resulting in the loss of a 12-year-old boy’s life. The incident involved a truck veering off the road and plunging into a nearby river, leaving two others injured.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, as stated in a news release on Sunday. Deputies from the department were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered a truck that had become submerged in the Clear Creek River. Multiple individuals were found outside of the vehicle, requiring immediate assistance.

Two women were found at the scene with facial lacerations, while a male was seen running up the embankment, frantically calling for assistance.

Deceased trapped underwater

During the investigation, deputies also uncovered another victim, a 12-year-old boy who was trapped inside the submerged vehicle.

Rescuers and a kind-hearted individual bravely leaped into the river to save the young boy. However, they faced numerous obstacles as the boy was caught between a boulder and the vehicle.

According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle was lifted by deputies, allowing an officer to successfully rescue the victim.

Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the medical team was unable to save the young boy, who sadly passed away upon reaching the hospital.

The authorities have not disclosed the identities of the deceased individuals or the others involved in the accident. They have also not clarified the relationship between them. Additionally, the sheriff’s office has not provided any updates regarding the injuries sustained by the other three individuals involved in the accident or how the vehicle came to be in the river.
