1 person dead and 1 in custody following an argument in a Birmingham apartment

One person was killed and another was taken into custody following an altercation inside an apartment in northeast Birmingham.

At 8:57 a.m. on Sunday, the police received a report of a person who had been shot in the 2300 block of Seventh Way N.W. at Madison Park apartments.

Upon their arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult male on the sidewalk in front of the apartment building.

The victim rushed out of the apartment, only to collapse.

The authorities apprehended the suspect and took them into custody.

Birmingham has recorded its 22nd homicide this year, with the recent death of a man. It is worth noting that out of these cases, three have been deemed justifiable and are not categorized as criminal incidents.

Jefferson County has seen a total of 29 homicides, with 22 of them occurring in Birmingham.
