Young boy from Oklahoma runs a mile for assistance after tornado destroys family’s truck

A tornado hurled the truck of a family in Oklahoma off the road and into a tree. In a remarkable display of bravery, their 9-year-old son ran over a mile to seek help for his injured parents.

Branson Baker and his parents, Wayne Baker and Lindy Baker, found themselves in a tornado during a storm in Dickinson near Ardmore. They were on their way to their friend’s storm shelter when the terrifying incident occurred.

The outbreak of almost 30 tornadoes in Oklahoma claimed the lives of four individuals, including a 4-month-old baby, and caused immense destruction in Marietta and Sulphur. In the subsequent week, eight more tornadoes struck, causing severe damage to Barnsdall and Bartlesville.

The Baker family’s truck was trapped when a tornado uprooted a tree, causing it to crash into the vehicle, with Wayne and Lindy inside.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to cover the medical expenses of the Baker family, Branson managed to escape the crash. Despite the darkness and the presence of downed power lines and debris, he ran for over a mile to reach the Baker family’s neighbor and seek assistance.

Branson recounted her experience on Good Morning America, revealing that she immediately rushed to seek assistance and pleaded with the person in need, saying, “Please don’t die.”

During an interview with Good Morning America, Wayne expressed his pride in his son’s remarkable ability to embrace and conquer challenges.

Wayne expressed that it demonstrated his willingness to go the extra mile for anyone.
