Woman receives sentence for stealing Ashley Biden’s diary

A Florida woman who stole President Joe Biden’s daughter’s diary and sold it to Project Veritas has been sentenced to one month in prison. After her prison term, she will be placed under three years of supervised release.

Judge Laura Taylor Swain handed down the sentence two months after Aimee Harris missed the original sentencing date due to illness.

The sentence handed down by the court is more severe than what prosecutors had initially requested, even though they did accuse her of undermining the political process.

According to prosecutors, she illicitly took advantage of her physical proximity to the personal belongings of someone she didn’t personally know but recognized as a public figure with valuable possessions. In their sentencing memorandum, they emphasized that the act of stealing personal items from a candidate’s family member and selling them to an organization for political gain was both unlawful and morally objectionable, regardless of any political motivations.

Ashley Biden resided in Delray Beach, Florida at a friend’s residence in 2020. However, when she relocated in June of that year, she unintentionally left a collection of personal belongings behind. Fortunately, the homeowner kindly permitted her to store these items at the house.

Federal prosecutors claim that Harris took over the room after Biden’s departure and stumbled upon the items. Subsequently, he colluded with co-defendant Robert Kurlander to sell the materials. Initially, they approached the Trump campaign with the offer, but it was turned down. Eventually, they opted to sell the items to the far-right activist group Project Veritas.

In August 2022, Harris and Kurlander admitted their guilt in a conspiracy charge. They acknowledged receiving $20,000, which was paid by Project Veritas.
