Ukraine carries out airstrike on residential building in Russia, resulting in 15 fatalities, officials confirm

According to a local governor, a Ukrainian missile struck a 10-story residential building in Belgorod, Russia overnight.

The death toll has risen to 15 people, as reported by the Emergency Situations Ministry on Sunday.

According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a major attack on the city and district of Belgorod.

According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the building was hit by the Ukrainian Tochka-U missile during the overnight attack. It remains unclear whether the missile intentionally targeted the building or if the damage resulted from fragments of a downed missile.

According to Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, the bodies of 11 people were initially recovered by search-and-rescue workers from the rubble of the apartment building.

There is no immediate comment from Ukrainian military officials regarding the claims, and their veracity cannot be immediately confirmed.

In the photos, it is evident that a significant section of the apartment building in Kharkovskaya Gora has been completely obliterated, leaving only the remaining structures standing on both sides of a noticeable gap.
