What Happened To Aspen and Willow?

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Aspen and Willow were discovered in a sorry state as they were found as “a matted mess on a logging road.” The woman who stumbled upon them shared their story on Facebook, hoping to locate their owner.

The previous owner made contact, expressing that the dogs were initially given as a present for her children. Unfortunately, her kids quickly lost interest, leading her to pass the dogs along to a “farmer” who, in the end, declined to keep them.

Aspen and Willow, two-year-old Goldendoodle mix pups, have formed a deep bond. Aspen, a male weighing 58 pounds, has a beautiful cream-colored curly coat. Willow, a female weighing 48 pounds, has a lovely chocolate-colored coat. Both Aspen and Willow are spayed and neutered and have received all their necessary vaccinations. Due to their strong attachment and reliance on each other, GDRNE kindly requests that they remain together and not be separated.

According to GDRNE, both dogs are known for being sweet and affectionate. They love interacting with new people, including both adults and children. Additionally, they have shown compatibility with other large dogs. However, GDRNE advises against placing them in a home with cats or small dogs, as Aspen has a tendency to exhibit a prey drive.

They have excelled in training, demonstrating proficiency in both leash and crate skills. Additionally, they quickly adapted to their new surroundings and became housebroken within just a few days. It’s important to note that due to their ability to jump over 4-foot high fences, potential adopters will need to either install a taller fence or use a secure line to ensure their safety.
