Trump Demands the Arrest of Liz Cheney and the Whole January 6 Committee

Former President Donald Trump is openly advocating for the incarceration of nine individuals who were his political adversaries, one of them being former Congresswoman Liz Cheney.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump recently shared an article by far-right writer John Solomon. The article claims that the Jan. 6 committee withheld important evidence by not releasing the testimony of a Secret Service agent who drove Trump’s limo on that day. According to the driver, Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House staffer, Trump did not attempt to grab the steering wheel of the limo in an effort to redirect it to the Capitol.

In his recently released testimony, the Secret Service agent stated that he did not witness Trump reaching or grabbing the steering wheel. He also confirmed that there was no lunging or attempt to get into the front seat. The agent noted that what stood out the most was the irritation in Trump’s voice rather than any physical actions.

The Jan. 6 committee and the Secret Service reached an agreement to protect sensitive information during 12 interviews. This agreement aimed to safeguard “privacy information, for-official-use-only information, intelligence and law enforcement sensitive records, and raw intelligence information.” However, there are claims from individuals on the Right suggesting that the undisclosed interview with the unnamed driver was suppressed due to its contradictory nature to Hutchinson’s testimony.

Former President Trump strongly disagrees with the committee’s explanation and goes as far as suggesting that Cheney and the other eight members should be imprisoned.
