Top Republican Condemns ‘Radical Individuals’ in House GOP ‘Chaos Caucus’ Amid Threats by Marjorie Taylor Greene to Oust Speaker

A prominent Republican is speaking out against the “radical individuals” within the House GOP’s chaos caucus, coinciding with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) threatening to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

During an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with Ed O’Keefe, Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, strongly criticized individuals who are obstructing Johnson’s efforts to bring a Ukraine aid package to the floor.

According to Turner, the Chaos Caucus persistently opposes any actions taken in Congress without offering an alternative plan. They are against important measures that are crucial for national security.

Turner stated that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) will not be endorsing any initiative that calls for Democrats to participate in removing the speaker.

Congressman Turner stated that Jeffries has made his stance clear, expressing that he will not align with the Republican rebels in an attempt to remove Speaker Johnson. Turner believes that there will be widespread support in Congress to successfully accomplish this task.

During a conversation with O’Keefe, Turner was asked if any Republicans are planning to leave the House, considering the recent departure of 20 of them. In response, Turner stated that he is unaware of any others looking to leave but went on to offer his perspective on the current state of affairs within the House.

According to Turner, the recent events have highlighted the presence of radical fringes and individuals who are driven by chaos rather than a specific ideology or agenda. This has caused disruptions and made it challenging for those who simply want to focus on completing their tasks.
