Kaylee Gain continues to make remarkable progress in her recovery. Despite being involved in a brutal brawl that resulted in a coma, she is already able to walk around, which is a testament to her resilience. However, her parents emphasize that there is still a long road ahead for her.
In a recent update on their GoFundMe page, the parents of Gain, the student who was subjected to a brutal attack captured in a viral video, have shared some encouraging news. They report that Gain is making significant progress in her recovery. As of mid-April, she is able to walk with minimal assistance and even communicate in short phrases. This update brings hope and relief to those following Gain’s story and shows the resilience and strength she possesses.
Kaylee’s family has mentioned that she is still wearing a helmet due to the fact that her bone flap, which was removed during brain surgery to provide access, has not yet been fully repaired. They have stated that this will be addressed in a future surgical procedure.
Kaylee was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital in St. Louis by paramedics after being assaulted by a student. The perpetrator was apprehended by the police and is now facing first-degree felony charges. A hearing has been scheduled for May 10 to decide whether she will be tried as an adult.
After the fight, Kaylee’s family took the initiative to create a GoFundMe campaign to support their daughter. Their initial goal was to raise approximately $120k, but astonishingly, they have surpassed that amount by raising over $400k. It’s truly remarkable to see that Kaylee is making a strong recovery.
