Suspect arrested on kidnapping charges after reportedly hijacking a LA bus with a BB gun

Around 11:10 p.m. PT on Wednesday, the incident unfolded in downtown Los Angeles. According to police and transit officials, the suspect boarded the Metro bus. Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus at that time, as reported by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

According to the police, Anai Lindsey from Nevada is the suspect in an incident where he allegedly made verbal threats to the driver. The suspect then proceeded to reach into his waistband, mimicking the presence of a gun, and commanded the driver to “Just drive!”

The suspect later fled on foot but was eventually apprehended, according to authorities. The bus, on the other hand, crashed into the Ritz Carlton Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

The LAPD reported that they found a BB gun on the sidewalk in front of the bus.

Both the bus driver and the person in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital, according to authorities. The bus driver has since been discharged, while the other victim is still in the hospital in stable condition, as confirmed by the police on Thursday afternoon.

Lindsey faces charges of kidnapping and is currently detained on a $100,000 bail. It remains uncertain whether he has legal representation to advocate for him.

The police have not disclosed any information regarding a potential motive.
