Suge Knight Accuses J. Cole of Waving White Flag in Kendrick Lamar Beef, Asserts ‘That Quitter Attitude Would Have Kept Us in Slavery

Oh no! Suge Knight is expressing his disapproval and criticizing J. Cole for surrendering in his feud with Kendrick Lamar.

The rivalry between the two rappers for the title of Best Rapper Alive has been going on for years, with occasional jabs thrown here and there. However, things escalated when K. Dot teamed up with Metro Boomin’ and Future on their track “Like That.” In the song, K. Dot took shots at J. Cole and Drake, which prompted Cole to release a surprise project titled “Might Delete Later.” The project included a warning shot to K. Dot called “7 Minute Drill.”

On Sunday (April 7), J. Cole took to Instagram to discuss his beef with Kendrick Lamar and share insights into the creation of “7 Minute Drill” during his Dreamville Fest musical festival. The conversation was captured on Hollywood Unlocked’s Instagram.

During his performance, the North Carolina rapper shared with the audience his recent feelings of contentment and independence, stating, “I have been happy and I’ve been making moves on my own terms… now, why am I sharing all of this? Well, I released a project last Friday called ‘Might Delete Later’… I’m not sure how many people have checked it out yet, but it’s projected to have reached around 140-160K listens. And let me tell you, I am genuinely proud of this project. It’s just an EP, but it serves as a stepping stone towards something I have been diligently working on for a long time. I understand the amount of effort it took to reach a certain level of skill, and that means a lot to me… I am immensely proud of this project, except for one part.”

Cole expressed his regret, stating, “It’s one part of that situation that makes me feel like, ‘Man, that’s the most regrettable thing I’ve ever done in my life.’ And, I know, not everyone wants to hear this… I can imagine my friends up there right now saying, ‘Nahhh, don’t admit that.’ But, I have to be honest with you all. I almost had a relapse. Because, you all heard about the incident that occurred a couple of weeks ago, or however long it was… You all heard the impact that it had on the industry.”

Cole expressed his thoughts, stating that during this period of him taking control of his own actions, he was faced with challenges. He questioned why he was being tested and felt the pressure of having the world’s expectations on his shoulders. His phone was bombarded with missed calls and flooded with texts that he couldn’t respond to. It felt like a warzone, with people wanting to see conflict and confrontation. Despite feeling conflicted, Cole emphasized that he holds a deep respect and admiration for his peers in the industry. He acknowledged the pressure to engage in a feud, but personally, he didn’t harbor any negative feelings. Cole expressed his disappointment with Kendrick Lamar’s recent actions, stating, “Y’all love Kendrick Lamar, right? Well, I do too. So, I just want to publicly say that what he did was the lamest and goofiest thing. It made me feel like I did ten years ago when I was making mistakes. I hope God will guide me back to my purpose and path. If my friend felt any type of way, I’m here, ready to take whatever he throws at me. I’ll take it on the chin. Do what you gotta do, it’s all good. I just hope you all can forgive me for this misstep so I can get back on track, because these past two days have been terrible.”
