After four weeks of searching, the mother of a missing autistic boy in Tennessee firmly believes that someone must have taken her son.
Katie Proudfoot expressed her disbelief that Sebastian Rogers, a 15-year-old, had not been found yet. She shared her thoughts during an interview on Crime Stories with Nancy Grace.
Ms. Proudfoot expressed her belief that if the missing person had been nearby or had wandered away, he would have been discovered by now, considering the extensive search efforts. She shared this sentiment during a podcast episode on Monday.
Sebastian’s mother and stepfather, Chris Proudfoot, faced intense questioning from Nancy Grace regarding their whereabouts on the night Sebastian went missing in Hendersonville.
Around an hour after Sebastian went to bed on 25 February, Ms Proudfoot heard a noise coming from his room.
During the interview, she clarified the situation by describing it as a loud thud. She explained that she immediately called out to her son, who responded. In response, she instructed him to go to sleep.
She said that was the last time she heard her son. Meanwhile, Mr. Proudfoot was away for work on a construction site.
On the morning of February 26th, Ms. Proudfoot awoke to find that Sebastian had disappeared. Concerned, she immediately contacted her husband, who promptly notified the police. Thus began a search that would span several weeks.
The couple has since departed from their residence. Mr. Proudfoot revealed to Nancy Grace that he is returning to work, and his wife will be accompanying him.
Ms. Proudfoot expressed her concern about leaving the area while the search continues.
The mother expressed her concerns, saying, “We’re searching high and low for my son, as he could be anywhere.”
During the interview, Nancy Grace raised concerns about the police search. The couple vigorously asserted their innocence, emphasizing that they had been cleared of any wrongdoing. They also highlighted the fact that they had fully cooperated with the officers during the search of their home.
During the conversation, the host mentioned a report where Mr. Proudfoot had used a belt to discipline Sebastian. According to the host, this incident occurred around three years ago and was in response to the boy lying.
During the episode, the couple also addressed Sebastian’s autism, emphasizing that he had never shown a tendency to wander or leave the house on his own before his sudden disappearance.
During the show, Brian Trascher from the United Cajun Navy joined to discuss the group’s pivotal role in spearheading the volunteer search missions for Sebastian.
Sebastian, who is only 15 years old, has been missing for a month. Despite this, Tennessee’s Bureau of Investigation remains committed to searching for him and diligently following up on any leads that may come their way.
