Robin Williams Stood Up for ‘Doubtfire’ Co-star Following Her Expulsion

Robin Williams was truly one of the kindest individuals in Hollywood. This was evident when he stood up for one of the child stars from “Mrs. Doubtfire” after she was expelled as a teenager.

Lisa Jakub, known for her role as one of Robin’s onscreen daughters in the 1993 comedy, recently appeared on Matthew Lawrence’s “Brotherly Love Podcast.” During the episode, she revealed an interesting tidbit about her experience filming the movie – she was actually kicked out of school at the time.

While attending high school in Canada, she found herself in a unique situation. She had to be on set to shoot a movie, which meant she would have to be away from school for a considerable amount of time. Initially, her school was supportive and understanding of this arrangement. However, their attitude changed, and they abruptly told her not to return.

Lisa explains that Robin became aware of the situation when he noticed that the child seemed upset. Once he discovered the cause of the distress, Robin took it upon himself to personally write a letter.

Lisa’s note was sent to the principal of her school. In the note, Robin explained why he believed that giving her a second chance and reevaluating her expulsion was necessary. Robin acknowledged Lisa’s dedication to her career and emphasized the need for some flexibility in her situation.

Despite Rob’s star power, it was unable to save her from the consequences. Lisa affirms that the authorities were adamant and she was expelled, with no chance of returning to that specific high school.
