Robert Downey Jr. Roasts Chris Hemsworth, Asking ‘Avengers’ Cast to Describe ‘Thor’ Star in Three Words; Chris Evans Responds: ‘Second Best Chris!’

Chris Hemsworth was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and his fellow Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr. took the opportunity to playfully roast the beloved “Thor” actor. Downey invited their Marvel colleagues Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans to share three words that describe Hemsworth. Their responses filled the audience with laughter.

“What is Chris Hemsworth?” inquired Downey. “Renner amusingly describes him as absurdly amazing. Ruffalo simply refers to him as a friend from work. Scarlett captures his essence by calling him a sensitive leading lady. Captain America playfully labels him as the second-best Chris. And I must say, there is no one more deserving than him. He is a true recipient of the Hollywood star.”

In a more serious tone, Downey expressed his admiration for Hemsworth, describing him as one of the most extraordinary individuals he has ever known. Hemsworth was awarded his star one day prior to the release of his latest film, George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” Downey eagerly anticipates watching the movie and confidently predicts that it will become the standout film of 2024.

“I personally crafted all of my comments, so you can expect them to be insightful and brilliant,” stated Downey. “Beyond the superhero persona and the powerful presence, there is an infectious Aussie charm. You are an extraordinary individual, a true legend. Describing Chris can be quite challenging. He may appear elusive with his attractive exterior, but upon closer examination, he reveals a genuine wit and profound soul. It has been an absolute pleasure to have known you. You constantly keep us in Hollywood on our toes because you are the real deal.”

In a recent interview with Variety, Chris Hemsworth revealed that he had mistakenly believed he was receiving a Hollywood star back in 2019. The confusion arose when the cast of “Avengers: Endgame” was invited to leave their handprints in cement outside the iconic TCL Chinese Theater.

“I actually thought that was the Walk of Fame! So when we did it, I was like, ‘Oh wow, I’m getting a star.’ But then someone informed me that it wasn’t the case. I just played along as if I knew what was going on. It was only later that I asked, ‘So, where’s my star?'”, Hemsworth shared.
